BAND

  • Comments: Instrumental experience is preferred but if a student is willing to take lessons then they are welcome to join.
  • Open to: Anyone with "G" period open during the school day.
  • Season: School year
  • Cost: Everyone is required to participate in fundraising
  • Covered in Cost: Band uniforms for concerts & pep band
  • Personal Equipment: Musical instrument, unless you arrange to use a school instrument
  • Practices: Period "G", Monday - Friday
  • Transportation:
  • Purpose/Goal: To develop a cohesive group for performance at school events such as football & basketball games, pep rallies & concerts.

    CHORUS

  • Comments:
  • Open to: All grades, tryouts for Advanced Chorus
  • Season: School year
  • Cost: Approx. $200 for Advanced Chorus members' trip to Disney (every other year) & everyone is required to participate in fundraising

  • Personal Equipment:
  • Practices: During the school day - occasionally after school for those participating in festivals & contests
  • Transportation: School van or bus
  • Purpose/Goal: Students attend festivals, contests & performances to strengthen their choral skills

    FALL THEATRE
  • Moderator: Fr. Dominic Garramone

  • Comments: The Fall Theatre is an opportunity to explore a variety of different types of plays - comedy, drama, children's theatre, etc. Using shorter scripts makes it possible to concentrate on creating characters, not just memorizing lines.

  • Personal Equipment: Sometimes ask students to find costume pieces
  • Practices: Usually 2 - 3 rehearsals per week for 4 -5 weeks
  • Transportation:
    Purpose/Goal: Provide opportunities for student actors to explore a variety of acting styles and nurture a love of the dramatic arts

    SPRING MUSICAL

  • Open to: All St. Bede students, tryouts 2-3 months before the show
  • Season: Spring

  • Personal Equipment: Student may need shoes, pants, etc.
  • Practices: Sundays, Weekday nights for main characters
  • Transportation:
  • Purpose/Goal: Training students in musical theatre, developing acting and music skills

    STAGE RATS
  • Moderator: Fr. Dominic Garramone

  • Comments: Stage Rats is a great activity for students to meet people from every grade and make life long friendships. We don't just build sets; we also have bonfires, pizza parties and field trips to theatre events.
  • Open to: All grades
  • Season: Year-round
  • Cost: Some occasional cost for pizza, t-shirt and trips
  • Covered in Cost:
  • Personal Equipment: A willing spirit and clothes to get dirty in
  • Practices: Meet 2 or 3 times a week (usually 8:00 - 10:00 p.m. You are required to attend every session, but only as your schedule allows. Our rule is family first, school second, theatre third.
  • Transportation:
    Purpose/Goal: To help students discover and develop their God given talents through the collaborative arts of set design, construction and play production
