Capital Campaign Concludes at $6.5 Million

Abbot Claude Peifer has announced that as of December 31, 2007, a total of $6.5 million has been received in cash, pledges and planned gifts from alumni, parents, and friends of St. Bede Abbey and Academy. "We did not entirely reach our goal of $7 million," Abbot Claude said. "Nevertheless, we are very grateful to all those who responded generously to our appeal. The primary purpose of the campaign was to strengthen the endowment of the academy, but secondarily it was also intended to assist the abbey with its financial needs."

Persons still desiring to make a donation to the campaign may do so by May 1, 2008. Contributions may be in the form of cash gifts, pledges, automatic withdrawals from a bank account, or a deferred gift in the form of a bequest, gift annuity, or life insurance policy.
