Academic Opportunities

  • Advanced Placement Classes Advanced Placement Classes are offered as an opportunity for students to earn college credit. For college-level work, courses are generally very challenging and students have the opportunity to take a test at the end of the course to earn the college credit. Example of AP classes being offered are Calculus, Chemistry, European History, and Physics.
  • Early Entry College (E2C) These courses are offered on St. Bede's campus through IVCC, a local junior college. This allows junior and senior students the opportunity to earn college credit while still attending high school. Examples of current (E2C) classes being offered are: Sociology, Psychology, and Art Appreciation.
  • Dual-Credit Courses Academy students have the opportunity to earn both high school and Illinois Valley Community College credit in selected courses offered at St. Bede utilizing St. Bede Academy faculty.  These courses fulfill high school graduation requirements while also allowing students to gain college credit prior to entry into most statewide institutions.  Dual-Credit courses are available in Art, French, Mathematics, Religion and Social Studies.
