Legacy Project Hold
Our wonderful and venerable building has witnessed over 12,000 students enter her doors and walk her halls since 1890. Our
Saint Bede family has been blessed by her 125 years of faithful service. It is difficult to imagine our Academy without her. Fortunately, we will not have to.
We have architectural plans to renovate our building so she can continue to welcome future generations of students,
monks, staff, families and friends. Our plans also call for the construction of new facilities that will provide a modern educational environment for another 125 years.
The foundation and structure of our building is robust. However, all classrooms need to be renovated and the kitchen and restrooms must be replaced. We can no longer defer these investments.
Improving our educational capabilities will assure our continued competitiveness
in several important areas.
- Attracting and retaining the best students and top teachers. Local communities have built new schools. Students, parents and teachers increasingly expect advanced facilities and technology.
- Enhancing our reputation for academic excellence with colleges and universities our students aspire to attend.
- Meeting the expectations of our prospective national and international students.
- A strong school is beneficial when recruiting new members of our monastic community.

The Legacy Project features two exciting and much-needed $10 million construction phases.
The phases are STREAM and Pavilion. This phased approach minimizes impacts to the daily workings of our school and is cost effective. Each phase will greatly improve the function and form of our school, require about 15 months to
complete and will assure ADA compliance.
Phase I : STREAM 2017-2018
The top priority is the STREAM Phase, which contains main building and the construction of a tower on the north side
of school. STREAM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Religion, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics
a powerful combination of instruction that will serve our graduates well. This phase starts with the construction of
the Sciences Tower. TheTower solves urgent educational compliance and daily operational needs. The balance of this
phase will renovate three floors of classrooms in the main building, completely rebuild the kitchen and will decommission existing restrooms, the basement-level and the fourth floor.
Phase II : Pavilion 2018-2019
The second phase will deliver the space and amenities for special events. The Annex will connect the main building to the Abbot Vincent Gymnasium. Nearly all students participate on a sports team and/or numerous clubs and related activities. Currently, male and female student-athletes may wait up to three hours before their team can practice in the main gym. The Field House will allow more athletic practices to be conducted simultaneously.
This phase also provides a modern and more favorable impression of our school for visitors to our campus for sports or special events by modernizing our main competition gym coupled with the addition of ground-level restrooms.
