Varsity Volleyball Coach

Job description: Saint Bede Academy is seeking a Head Varsity Girls Volleyball Coach for the 2024-2025 school year. Expectations of the candidate would be to develop, coach, and manage the 9-12 volleyball program. The individual must foster/cultivate a positive team atmosphere that values individual development, discipline and sportsmanship while keeping the best interest of all student-athletes at the forefront of the decision making process.

Saint Bede Academy is a Catholic High School in the Benedictine tradition and competes in the TCC (Tri-County Conference). Full Time International Junior High School Teacher (Math, Science, English and History Positions)

Compensation Package Includes:

Duties:                         
Teaching junior high school Math, Science, English or History, providing Reading interventions during instruction.   The full-time teacher will be responsible for all aspects of a classroom: planning and executing engaging lessons, working collaboratively with other staff members, grading and recording assignments, and managing student behavior, among other duties.  The ideal candidate will have a student-centered approach to learning, high levels of flexibility, initiative and creativity, strong communication skills, and display a passion for global education.  Classes are taught 100% in English as students are prepared to continue their high school studies in the United States. 

Qualifications:            
Bachelors degree required.  Professional educator license with appropriate endorsements preferred.  ESL or Reading Specialist endorsement preferred, but not required.   Applicants must be native English speakers. Compensation will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Start Date/Duration:  
August 1, 2024. One and two-year contracts available.

Our boarding program is designed to support our students so they learn to be confident, independent, responsible, and self-motivated. The dorms become a family, and as a Dorm Parent, you will be a big part of shaping that experience.

Job Responsibilities

As a Dorm Parent, you live in a dormitory apartment on Saint Bede’s High School Campus. In your role, you:

  • Support the Saint Bede Mission, the boarding program's goals, and promote Catholic values

  • Maintain a safe, secure, healthy, and encouraging living environment

  • Build positive relationships with and cultivate friendships between students

  • Coordinate after-school and weekend activities, fostering an inclusive, active, and engaged community

  • Identify and assist students with personal, social, or academic matters and refer students with health, counseling, academic, or personal concerns to appropriate Saint Bede staff

  • Ensure compliance with Saint Bede’s policies, procedures, and expectations

  • Serve as a role model for students

  • Support and celebrate the ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds of the boarding students

  • Drive students to medical appointments, volunteering or other activities

Requirements

Do you have the following?

  • Four-year degree; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Bi-lingual: Chinese preferred but not required

  • Experience working with youth

  • Keen interpersonal, problem-solving, and planning skills

  • Strength in working as part of a team

  • Ability to work independently and take initiative

  • Strong leadership qualities of confidence, responsibility, and professionalism

  • Valid driver’s license

Schedule

As a Dorm Parent you will be responsible for students in grades 9 – 12 on weekdays from when classes end in the afternoon until they return to school the next day and two weekends per month as well as school holidays and in-service days. Occasional supervision of students that are ill during the school day is required.

Development Director

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Director of Mission Advancement and Major Gifts, the Development Director is charged with comprehensive responsibilities for planning and execution of all aspects of fundraising, including event planning, communication, and alumni and donor engagement.  The Development Director is expected to support the overall mission and vision of St. Bede Abbey and St. Bede Academy through strategic planning and creativity that reflects excellent communication, vision, integrity, impeccable moral character, and commitment to the institutional values. 

Essential Responsibilities

·      Foster an intentional, formalized development plan that is consistent with the mission, vision, and values of St. Bede Abbey and St. Bede Academy.

·      Develop and execute implementation of all fundraising initiatives and programs including, but not limited to, St. Bede Fund, Special Gifts, Matching Gifts and Grant Writing

·      Manage and research matching gift opportunities to increase annual matching gift dollars in all areas

·      Be a driving force behind strategies and efforts focused on engaging the Saint Bede community and increasing donor base and revenues.

·      Directly solicit and close gifts from donors and maintain relationships through mail, email, phone, and in-person contacts on behalf of Saint Bede.

·      Identify, engage and cultivate alumni and friends of Saint Bede.

·      Plan, produce and disseminate solicitations to St. Bede’s giving community.

·      Foster collaboration, motivate and empower team members to achieve priorities and goals.

·      Guide marketing and communication, building on St. Bede brand recognition.

·      Data management and analysis of donor database, constituency lists, files and giving records

·      Keep records of all real-time interactions with potential donors and gifts including gift processing and acknowledgement

Qualifications

·      Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field.

·      Three to five years experience with proven results in non-profit development, fundraising or marketing   

·      Knowledge of, and an appreciation for private catholic education

·      Excellent communication and organizational skills

·      Experience with business management, development and/or relationship building, customer service, sales and/or solicitation

Experience with donor software, event management software and grant writing a plus
