Advent is the spiritual season of hope and in this season, the whole Church is called to be hope, for itself and for the world.

• The candles of the Advent wreath will be lit each day during the Advent season as we look forward to celebrating Christ's birth.

• Advent reflection booklets will be distributed tomorrow or Wednesday.

• The National Evangelization Team will be here for reflection days for sophomores on Thursday and freshmen on Friday.

• Tomorrow is our all-school Thanksgiving service. Please remember to bring your class item to be donated to the food pantry.  We will take up a collection at the service.

• Please bring a pen or pencil to the Thanksgiving prayer service. Also, Advent calendar boxes will be available for collecting during Advent.

•  IVCC Spring registration forms were mailed out.  Please check your mail and return ONLY your registration form to Mrs. Plankenhorn by Tuesday, November 23. Payment is not due at this time and should not be submitted until requested. This is for students taking English 1002 and Music Appreciation for the Spring semester. Philosophy will not be offered for the Spring 2022 semester. We will have an in-person instructor on site for the Music Appreciation. It will not be an online class.

• Last Supper Club is today at Double Country in Spring Valley at the stoplight. $15.

• Student government is organizing a class giving tree beginning Monday November 29th. Seniors and juniors will donate to the designated trees in the science center. Sophomores will donate to the tree outside of the refectory and Freshmen will donate to the tree outside of Mrs. Morrows classroom. 

• Students – REMEMBER that you are only allowed to wear a Dennis Uniform Top (sweatshirt, sweater, ¼ zip) with a white undershirt only. Game day shirts are only allowed on a game day! Dress code violations will be issued if you are not in proper dress code.

Stewardship is leaving a system better than you found it.

• Heritage Club members: Sign up for the rescheduled mandala rock painting event on Saturday, November 6th at 10am. We will meet in the Perino Science Center. If we do not get enough people to sign up, the event will be canceled.

• Utica Knights of Columbus is looking for some volunteers to help with their annual Thanksgiving Dinner this Saturday, Nov 6.  Sign up sheet is in Mrs. Plankenhorn’s office.

• There will be a fan bus for Saturday’s football game. $10 per student to cover the cost of the bus. We have to have a minimum of 40 students to go. You can sign up and pay in the main office.

• Student’s taking AP exams you need to get your payments in per your teachers’ instructions.  Deadline for ordering is approaching.

• Student’s that have signed up to go to the Shedd Aquarium and the Field Museum on Nov. 24 get your permission slips and money turned into the office by this Friday.  If your form and money are not in by Friday, your spot may be given away.  There is a waiting list for this trip.

• A set of Air Pods has been turned into the office.  Please see Mrs. Plankenhorn to identify.

• Reminder to Ambassadors – meeting in the Abbey Church IMMEDIATELY after school today.  Do not delay, get there quickly

• Girls basketball practice will officially begin on Thursday.  We will follow Monday’s time schedule with Mass starting at 5:30. Parents are invited to attend mass and the meeting that follows!

• Reminder:  Tomorrow is an 11:20 dismissal, students need to be picked up by 12:00pm. So set up can begin for Open House.

•   CONGRATULATIONS to our Lady Bruins on their Regional Championship!! We are so proud of you!! Good luck on Monday at Sectionals!!

• Admission to tonight’s playoff football game is set by the IHSA ALL admission tickets are $5.  That means student ID’s, or any “passes” will not work for admission on any post season games.

• Next Wednesday, November 3 we will have an 11:20 dismissal with IVCC Sociology meeting at 11:25.  All students need to be picked up from school by 12:00

•   Anyone interested in joining the Interact Club please come to this year’s first meeting on Monday, Nov 1 at 7:15 am in the refectory.  Donuts will be served.

•   The Lady Bruins Basketball Team will be selling Wendy’s chili tonight at the football game!  Support the Lady Bruins with your hunger for great chili!

• Monday will be on schedule B for All Saints Day Mass.

• Grace Maschmann and Emma Borelli will be attending the Peru Rotary meeting today. Please dismiss them at 11:30.

• STUDENTS: The area behind the football concession stand is the Monk’s private area.  This area is off limits to students.  Please be respectful of the Monk’s home.

• The St. Bede Girls and Boys cross country season ended Saturday at the regional meet. St. Bede girls were led by Macy Zeglis's 29th place at 22:35, followed by Jaelyn Weber 30th 22:39, Aleda Hoogland 34th 22:53, Madelyn Torrance 40th 23:07, and Abbie George 51st 25:28. Girls finished 9th overall. Top 7 advance, 7th place was 5 points away. St. Bede Boys they were led by Henry Orteza's 31st place at 17:49, followed by Miguel Jones 37th at 18:30, Josh Grob 47th 19:13, Greyson Marincic 48th 19:14, and returning to the lineup Danial Dugosh 50th 19:17. The boys were 8th, 18 points away from 7th. Congrats to all runners for a Fantastic Season!

• Boys Basketball: Conditioning is changed from today to tomorrow. We will meet Wednesday by the gym. bring basketball shoes.

• Workers needed to sell 50/50 tickets at the football game this Friday night at the football game.  Service hours will be given.  Please see Ms. Bernabei or Mrs. Nambo to sign up.

• The cast of Fall Theatre should check Google Classroom for the rehearsal schedule. "Waiting for the Express": meets today at 2:45 p.m. in the abbey church.

• The next Last Supper Club outing this coming Wednesday at Nina's in La Salle.  There's a sign-up sheet on Fr. Ronald's door.

• Lectio a week from today.

• All Students – If you borrow a Chromebook charger from Mr. Harlow, you must return it to his office by 2p the day it was borrowed, or you will be charged $30 to replace the charger. 

• Girls basketball players are reminded about their work tonight for the 50/50. Meet at the gym before 5:30 shift starts

• First practice for bowling will be Monday, Oct 25 at IV Superbowl right after school 3:00 pm.  Any boys interested in bowling show up at the first practice.

• Did you miss auditions for Fall Theatre but still want to get involved? See Fr. Dom during homeroom in room 231 today for an alternate time.

• Tomorrow is a schedule 2 dress code day which means blue jeans may be worn free of charge they must have no holes or rips and a modest top must be worn no half tops or hoodies.  If you do not choose to wear blue jeans our DENNIS uniform dress code must be followed.  You will be sent home to change if you are not in approved dress code.
