All other items, including backpacks, cell phones and smartwatches should be left in your locker. This is a regular Dennis uniform dress day. You will return to lunch and your regular afternoon classes after the test. Be sure to go to bed early and eat a good breakfast so you can perform your best on the test!   • St. Bede is starting a new annual day of giving on St. Benedict’s Day, March 21st.   This day honors St. Benedict, the monk who founded the Benedictine rule and tradition St. Bede’s monastic community continues to follow today.   To celebrate St. Benedict’s Day, staff, faculty and students can receive a pair of limited edition SBA socks with a $20 or more donation. Donations can be dropped off in the Development Department before March 19th.  Sport your socks with everyone on March 21st.

  • It was a good night at Sterling for the St. Bede track teams. Lily Bosnich won the Long Jump and was second in the 60meters, 60 meter hurdles, and 200 meters. Maggie Arkins won the 800 meter run, Emerald De La Torre was 3rd in the 60 meters and part of the 4x200 meter relay along with Siearah Shaver, Grace Millington, Ashlyn Ehm that finished 5th. For the guys Marco Rizzi was second in the Long Jump, Greyson Marincic was third in the Long jump and was part of the 5th place 4x200 meter relay along with Sean Brayton, Willy Sramek, and Jack Maschmann.

Up to 4 students will be selected.  This award is renewable for up to five years.  See your email or the scholarship list. The Michael J. Lyons Scholarship is due April 1st to Ms. Bernabei. Both of these scholarships are only available to SBA students. There are a lot of scholarship deadlines approaching fast!  Check the scholarship list.

  • Our next future college student-athlete we will highlight is Matteo Pullara! Matteo has committed to the University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL to play football on their offensive line.   • Over the weekend, SBA's Scholastic Bowl team competed in the TCC Scholastic Bowl Tournament at Roanoke-Benson High School. The Bruins came out on top with 7 wins and 0 losses to capture the conference title! Your Bruins were led by Bella Hagenbuch who finished 9th and Grayson Marincic finishing in the #1 spot answering more toss-ups than anyone in the tournament both receiving All-Conference honors. Congratulations Bruins!

  • Attention anyone interested in Golf the Golf Room will be open after school on Tuesdays and Thursdays.

  • Congrats to the Lady Bruins basketball team on last night’s thrilling win over Serena. Last night’s sectional championship was the first for SBA Girls Basketball in 24 years, as well as the most program wins since the 1999-2000 season. Way to make history!

  • Seniors: The James Hardie Building Products Scholarship and Internship is back this year for St. Bede seniors and alumni ONLY! This is a $5,000 award and a paid summer internship with the possibility of full time employment after college graduation for Engineering or Accounting/Finance majors. Up to 4 scholarship/internship opportunities will be offered (depending on the number & quality of applicants). The award is renewable for up to five years based on satisfactory performance.   • If you are a senior who is not planning to go to college right after graduation you need to apply for the Staff Quick Ready to Work $250 Scholarship.  The money can be used on anything you choose; clothing required for work, gas, pay bills until your first paycheck, etc.  The application can be found on the SBA scholarship list on the counseling website and is due to Ms. Bernabei by April 1st.

  • Get into the college of your dreams!  Attending Pre-College Summer programs can help improve your chances of getting into highly selective colleges!! Apply NOW!  See your email for links to search for and apply. 100’s of programs and colleges to choose from.

  • First fish fry of the season is tomorrow from 4:30-8 at the Ladd Moose club to support the Saint Bede Lady Bruins softball season!  You can purchase tickets at the door for $13. Come eat dinner and then go support the Lady Bruins Basketball team in their regional championship game at Marquette.
