Building Maintenance Technician and Custodial Supervisor
The maintenance technician/custodial supervisor is an important member of a team that is responsible for all phases of building maintenance and operations. Maintenance technician conducts repairs and maintenance and supervises the routine cleaning and general housekeeping of the school buildings. Maintenance technician performs maintenance services and repairs in the areas of electrical, steam heat, plumbing, carpentry.
Duties include proper operation and maintenance of steam boiler heating system, electrical maintenance and repair, fire alarm and suppression system maintenance and carpentry.
Employee must have a working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems in order to maintain and improve equipment operation, efficiency, reliability and safety.
Employee is responsible for proper repair and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment.
Uses common hand and power tools, as well as specialized equipment and electronic testing devices, replaces or fixes worn or broken parts, where necessary, or make adjustments to correct malfunctioning equipment or machines.
Perform general, routine preventative maintenance and ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. Following a checklist, inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions. Inspect and maintain machines, equipment and other structures within the buildings.
Responds to service requests, prioritizes repairs and services in conjunction with schedules and budgets, multi-tasks and completes required maintenance, repairs, installations and services on time while also responding to issues requiring immediate attention.
Makes recommendations for outside services, use of vendors and contractors as deemed necessary and approved, including providing detailed purchase orders and quotes.

Coordinate, schedule and supervise the activities of the custodial and housekeepers.
Assign tasks and inspect building areas to see that work has been done properly
Prepare and maintain schedules for daily, monthly and summer work
Issue supplies and maintain equipment and inventory to ensure adequate supplies on hand and cost allocations are correctly recorded.
Screen and hire job applicants; train new and experienced employees, perform annual evaluation
Supervisor conducts inspections to ensure that the building in being cleaned properly and the team is functioning efficiently.
High school diploma
10 years related experience
Electrical and HVAC training/experience required
Fire Suppression and Alarm system experience

Duties: Supervise the delivery of the St. Bede Academy curriculum to co-operating school(s) in China.
Qualifications: Must be eligible for an administrative endorsement. Possess a strong background in curriculum development, teacher training and teacher evaluation. Retirees are encouraged to apply.
Additional notes: Although contract terms are flexible the successful candidate must expect to spend 60 -70% of a 3 year contract in China.
