❖ Heritage Club would like to acknowledge Cinco de Mayo. This is not Mexico's independence day, which is in September. Cinco de Mayo commemorates the town of Puebla standing against Napoleon III's French army attacks in 1862. Today, cities with large Mexican-American populations celebrate Cinco de Mayo as a way to honor their heritage and culture.
❖ There will be a lost and found starting today on the table at the top of the steps in the Perino Science Center. Please check it out before you leave for the day.
❖ Seniors – just a reminder to meet in the church at 11:15 on Wednesday morning for graduation practice. Even if you will not be participating in the ceremony, you must report to the church.
❖ Reminder to the Costa Rica travelers, there will be a meeting for travelers and parents tomorrow night at 7pm in the PSC. You’ll receive more information about what you need to do before the trip.
❖ Congratulations to seniors Alan Spencer and Tyler Walsh, honored as the April Teens of the Month by the Oglesby Elks Club! This award recognizes students who stand out in character, leadership, scholarship, citizenship, service, and achievement. Way to go, Alan and Tyler—we’re proud of you! And a huge shoutout to senior Andrea Brandner—our December Teen of the Month, who was also named local Teen of the Year and placed 2nd at the state level in the Elks Teen of the Year competition! What an amazing accomplishment! We’re proud to have all of you representing the Bruin family!
❖ All students & parents are invited to attend the College Information Night presentation on Wednesday, May 14, 6-7:30 pm in the PSC. Learn about the college application process, scholarships and more! This presentation is geared toward juniors but students and parents at all grade levels are invited to attend. It’s never too early to start planning!
HOMEROOM MEETINGS
❖ Everyone interested in Golf next year meeting today during homeroom in the Art Studio or after School in the Golf Room
❖ If you were involved in stage crew this year, please see Fr. Dominic in the religion office during homeroom.
❖ If you are a current freshman, sophomore, or junior interested in running for a class representative on Student Government during the 2025-2026 school year, please stop and get a petition from Mrs. Theisinger! No experience needed. All are welcome to run! Teachers- students are welcome to come and get these petitions during homeroom!

❖ CONGRATULATIONS to Teagan Mullane who is headed to Tumbling Nationals on June 16-21. She will be competing in trampoline, double mini, and floor routine. Way to go, Teagan!
