  • All Students – If you borrow a Chromebook charger from Mr. Harlow, you must return it to his office by 2p the day it was borrowed, or you will be charged $30 to replace the charger. 

  • Girls basketball players are reminded about their work tonight for the 50/50. Meet at the gym before 5:30 shift starts

  • First practice for bowling will be Monday, Oct 25 at IV Superbowl right after school 3:00 pm.  Any boys interested in bowling show up at the first practice.

  • Did you miss auditions for Fall Theatre but still want to get involved? See Fr. Dom during homeroom in room 231 today for an alternate time.

  • Tomorrow is a schedule 2 dress code day which means blue jeans may be worn free of charge they must have no holes or rips and a modest top must be worn no half tops or hoodies.  If you do not choose to wear blue jeans our DENNIS uniform dress code must be followed.  You will be sent home to change if you are not in approved dress code.

For the Boys they were led by Henry Orteza who was 17th at 19:25, Greyson Marincic was 19th at 19:35 and Josh Grob was 29th at 20:34.

Henry Orteza ran a 19:23 for 44th place, Grayson Marincic ran a 20:17 for 56th place and Josh Grob ran a 21:02 for 68th. For the girls Madelyn Torrance led the lady bruins with a 23:53 for 24th place, Macy Zeglis ran a 24:56 for 35th, Aly Hoogland ran a PR 25:38 for 39th, and Abbie George ran a HUGE PR of 27:22 for 51st.

  • If you have any forms that need turned into the office, please bring them at this time.  We have been more than fair with deadlines on these.  The forms we are looking for are for the freshmen: Birth Certificates, Immunization record and 9th grade physical, dental exam and Signature forms.  Sophomores – Juniors: Signature Forms. Seniors: Meningitis immunization record and Signature forms. Multiple emails have been sent to parents concerning these matters.  If your forms are not turned in by tomorrow, Wednesday October 6 you will be asked to go home until we receive your forms.  You will also be marked as an unexcused absence.  Which means anything you miss will not be allowed to be made up.

  • CONGRATULATIONS to this year’s DAR (Daughter’s of the Revolution) winner Ben Koyak and our SAR (Sister’s of the Revolution) winner Duncan Lawler.  These gentlemen were 2 of the 6 nominated by the faculty and then voted on by their class.  Students are nominated and voted on for their leadership, dependability, service and patriotism towards others and the community! 

  • The yearbook staff would like to add comments and quotes in this year’s yearbook on events held throughout the school year.  A survey has been emailed to all students.  Please complete as soon as possible.

  • Reminder to the yearbook staff: There will be a meeting after school this Friday to finalize the theme/cover ideas.  Please try to attend if you would like to help with the theme and cover.

  • The LaSalle County Historical Society is requesting help with the Burgoo this year.  Students can earn as many hours as they want to work.  Help is needed on October 9th and 10th from 8:00am until the evening both days.  Students will be helping with vendor placement, being runners for the organizers, etc.  There are many tasks and they need lots of help. Students can work a couple of hours or all day.  See Mr. McGunnigal for more information.

Homecoming means coming home to what is in your heart.

  • Students that are eating lunches in the LOFT, you need to dump your garbage and return your tray IN THE REFECTORY! Do not leave trays in the LOFT.

  • Next Monday, September 27 is a 1- hour late arrival.  Classes will start at 8:50 a.m.

  • Softball signups for this coming Spring softball season will be during lunch periods today at the table outside the refectory. Coach Sons is also looking for 5 girls to help park cars Saturday for the Homecoming.

  • Softball players sign up to sell 50/50. We still need volunteers for one hour shifts between 10-1

  • Variety Show practice tonight will begin at 7:45. All must attend tonight and tomorrow to be in the show Friday night at 7:30

  • Tomorrow is picture retakes:  Any underclassmen that did not get their picture taken back in August needs to get it taken tomorrow with your uniform top on.  If you are wanting a retake of your August picture today is the day to do that as well, be sure to bring a uniform top for your photo if you are wearing dress up clothes for mass.  SENIORS: Many of you need your first picture taken, you MUST do this TOMORROW the following students have not yet signed up:  Tomorrow is dress up day for mass so seniors you should all be dressed appropriately for your senior portrait.

  • Are you interested in attending the US Merchant Marine Academy, West Point, Annapolis, Air Force, or Coast Guard academies after high school? Attend the virtual information session on Sept 28. Go to the guidance FB page or see Ms. Bernabei for the link.

  •   The Student Commons will be closed starting today after school until Monday to prepare for our Homecoming festivities.  If you need to stay after school for practices or games the rest of the week you will report to the LOFT or the REFECTORY.  Study halls will be held in your study hall teachers’ classrooms, except for E period.  E period study hall will be held in 226B on Thursday and 212 on Friday.

  • All students that have Lenovo Chromebooks:  All Chromebooks that have been issued by Mr. Harlow came with plastic cases.  Those cases MUST remain on your Chromebook AT ALL TIMES.  If you damage your Chromebook and it does not have a case on it, the warranty is voided, and I am under no obligation to have it repaired free of charge.  If you do not have a case, or the case is broken let me know and I will see if I can get it replaced, but there is no guarantee I can do that. Please remember you are NOT allowed to put stickers or draw on your Chromebooks until you graduate.  Chromebooks are St. Bede property until then.

Top Finishers for the Bruins were Jaelyn Weber 5th at 23:43, Madelyn Torrance 10th 24:38, Macy Zeglis 14th 25:01, Aly Hoogland 26:54, and Abbie George 29:51 EXCELLENT TEAM FINISH! For the Boys: Greyson Marincic was 15th at 21:09 and Henry Orteza 16th 21:36

Homecoming unites the past and the present.

  • This Thursday is picture retakes:  Any underclassmen that did not get their picture taken back in August needs to get it taken on Thursday.  If you are wanting a retake of your August picture today is the day to do that as well.  SENIORS: Many of you need your first picture taken, you MUST do this on this date the following students have not yet signed up: Trenton Acuncius and Quenten Sondgeroth.  Seniors you may wear your dress clothes to school for you picture or bring your dress clothes and change for your picture.  You will be called and sent for your picture when the photographers are ready for you.

  • Today a recruiter for the US Army will be visiting during lunch periods.

  • Lincoln College will be visiting tomorrow (Wednesday 22) and Saint Francis College for Nursing will be here Friday (Sept 24).

  • Softball signups for this coming Spring softball season will be held on Wednesday September 22nd during lunch period, at the table outside the refectory. Coach Sons is also looking for 5 girls to help park cars Saturday for the Homecoming festivities from 8 am - 10 am. Please let Mrs. Griggs know if you can help out.   • STUDENTS: Lockers need to be locked at all times with your St. Bede issued lock.  Locker checks will begin soon if your locker is not locked you will be fined $5 and $10 if you have no lock.

  • The variety show needs more acts to be able to hold the show on Friday night.  Remember acts can be skits, dances, instrumental or vocal solo. Come tonight at 7:30 for the rehearsal in the gym.

  • Attention Softball Players:  Coach Sons and Coach Griggs need you to volunteer to work a time slot between 8-1directing cars in the parking lot by the softball field and to sell 50/50 raffle tickets.  This will help raise funds to buy equipment for our team.  Freshman- Seniors are encouraged to help! Email Mrs. Griggs or stop and see Coach Sons Wednesday at lunch.

  • Homecoming Mums are a long-time tradition for Saint Bede Homecoming.  These are silk flowers that can be worn by your date or your mom or grandmother to the football game.  You can order these at lunch all this week for $5.  They will be distributed on Friday.

  • Dance tickets will be sold today and tomorrow at lunches.  All students who purchase tickets are being given a COVID screening form which MUST BE RETURNED COMPLETE AT THE DANCE!

  • Next week’s Homecoming Week Spirit Days are a chance for your class to win (or maintain) the Spirit Stick!  Get involved by getting creative!  Please remember modesty and appropriateness in all dress!  Also, these are not days to “not wear uniforms” they are days for fun and school community – put some thought into your participation!

  • Work study students: If you have been assigned to a fall event to work you will have an email from Ms. Bohne.  Those that are assigned to any volleyball games you need to be at the concession stand at 4:45 pm.  Ms. Bohne mistakenly told you 6:45. Varsity football workers should arrive between 6:30-6:45pm

  • Student ID’s required for entry into all home games.  If you don’t have your ID see Mrs. Plankenhorn or you will have to pay the $3 entry fee.

  • The varsity football players that helped Mr. Hancock this summer with moving classrooms, please send him your verification through X2Vol so he can verify your hours.

  • Homecoming Dance Ticket sales will continue next week at all lunches through Tuesday!!  $20 per person to attend the Homecoming Dance.

  • Today is the last day to sign up for the variety show.  Everyone received the google form link yesterday by email.  First rehearsal is Sunday in the church at 7pm.  Once you have done your act, you may go home. Masks must be worn inside the gym.

  • Yearbook meeting today after school in the music room, if you cannot attend, please email Mrs. Griggs.  The theme and the cover will be discussed.  50/50 tickets will be sold today at the football game and the profit will go to the yearbook club.  If you would like to help sell tickets let Mrs. Griggs know by the end of the day.
