• Today we have a group of 7th graders from local Catholic schools making a NET retreat in the abbey church. Please welcome them and keep them in your prayers. 

• Tomorrow the Sophomores will have their NET day in the abbey church. They have a relaxed dress code: slacks or jeans without rips and a St. Bede top. No leggings, sweatpants or pajama pants allowed. The sophomores will attend their period A class and at the end of the period report to the abbey church. Thursday is freshman NET day.

• Blue and Red Christmas in Peru is looking for gift wrappers on Monday, December 9 and Monday, December 16. • Students interested in participating in the spring musical this year should join the google classroom and be on the lookout for this year's show, which will be announced soon! The google classroom code is 4polime. Auditions are going to be held before winter break, but rehearsals will not start until January. The musical is scheduled for Thursday, March 27- Sunday, March 30.

• All students taking an IVCC class 2nd semester need to complete the online registration and turn in the purple course selection form to Mrs. Makransky in the main office.  Instructions to complete the online registration were emailed to you last Friday.  If you need help or have any questions see Ms. Bernabei ASAP.

• Teens Encounter Christ is a local retreat program held in Peterstown near Mendota. Also known as TEC, this retreat weekend is designed to help deepen your relationship with God through dynamic reflections, small group dialogue, music, and prayer.  Junior and seniors are eligible to attend—-you do not have to be Catholic to participate. There is a TEC for boys the first weekend in December. See Fr. Dom or Mr. Davy if you have any interest or questions, or to get a registration form.

• During the recession, Student Government proposed temporarily ABROGATING paying for a parking pass.

• This month's food pantry collection is in honor of Fr. Dominic's birthday. He will be turning 64 on the 25th, so we're asking the school to bring in 640 pounds of food for the food pantry in Spring Valley.  We're starting a little late so we'll keep collecting until Tuesday of next week. The religion class with the largest collection will get homemade treats from Fr. Dom!   

• Everyone interested in joining the “AAAA” that is … the Academy Anime Association of the Academy, we will meet in the Refectory after school today from 2:50 to 3:45.

• Congratulations to seniors Andrea Brandner and Alan Spencer for being selected as Teens of the Month by the Oglesby Elks Club! One goal of the Elks Teen of the Month program is to give recognition to the students & teenagers who strive diligently above the rest to become more of a complete citizen and individual.  Students are selected for this honor on the basis of Character, Leadership, Service, Citizenship, Community Service, Scholarship and Best Multiple Achievements. These two students excel in all of these areas. They are role models to all and we are proud to have them in our Bruin family!

• All freshman, sophomore and juniors will be taking the PSAT tomorrow.  Remember to bring your fully charged Chromebook and power cord, photo ID, pencil, approved calculator and a snack & drink. We will not have extra calculators available the morning of the test so make arrangements now if you need to borrow one. Be in your assigned testing room and ready to begin at 7:50 am.  Remember that you will NOT be allowed to open your locker after the test. Put anything you need to take home in your backpack and take it into the testing room.  See your email for more reminders. Go to bed early and eat a good breakfast so you can perform your best!
