• St. Bede is hosting a blood drive on Tuesday, Feb. 11. Students ages 16 & 17 who are interested in giving blood must get a consent form signed by a parent or guardian to participate. • Anyone that would like to help design the cover for the yearbook, please meet after school Tuesday in Mrs. Griggs classroom.  The cover artist will finalize the cover on Friday.

One goal of the Elks Teen of the Month program is to give recognition to teenagers who strive diligently above the rest to become more of a complete citizen and individual.  Students are selected for this honor on the basis of Character, Leadership, Service, Citizenship, Community Service, Scholarship and Best Multiple Achievements. Phillip’s application will move on to the next level of competition for Teen of the Year. St Bede did not have a December Teen of the Month. The next and last application deadline is Jan 20th.

• Because of all the different sports & activities scheduled for this Thursday and throughout the week, the Scotland/Ireland Final Departure meeting scheduled for this Thursday evening has been changed. It is now on Sunday, Dec 15th at 3:15 pm in the PSC commons. Please try to attend as we will be covering important details about travel, communication and activities while on our trip. Remember to bring $26 to Ms. Bernabei asap to cover the cost of the traditional Irish dinner & show on the last night of the trip.

• Seniors - FAFSA completion night is tonight 5:30 – 8 pm in the fishbowl. Parents & students are invited to attend.  If you bring all of the required information with you, you can complete and submit the FAFSA tonight. See your email for a list of items you will need to bring.

• Musical auditions tonight in Mrs. Griggs room any time between 6:30-8.  Please use fire escape door by gym to enter school.  If you cannot make tonight, your last opportunity will be Thursday after school from 3-4:30.  Please make sure you have filled out the google form for your audition.  Anyone that would like help with audition music may see Mrs. Griggs immediately after school today.

• A set of keys have been turned into the main office.  If you are missing your set of keys, please stop by to claim them.

• Tomorrow we will have a bilingual Mass in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe. Some of the readings, prayers and responses will be in Spanish. Please practice these with your religion and Spanish classes--the texts  will be in the booklet tomorrow as well. Special thanks to Mr. Garcia and his Spanish students who will be providing the music.

• St. Bede wrestling placed 14th out of 20 teams at a very tough Seneca Irish Invite over the weekend. Two Bruins walked away with medals on Saturday. Mikey Benge earned 3rd place in the 113 lb. weight class and Max Moreno placed 2nd in the 126 lb. weight class. Congratulations to both of the freshman varsity wrestlers!

• Musical audition material is available outside Mrs. Griggs classroom. All instructions for auditions for The Wizard of Oz are posted in the musical classroom.  Please see Mrs. Griggs or Mrs. Smith if you have questions.

• Anyone that would like help learning the ensemble audition part for the Wizard of Oz, Mrs. Griggs is having a short rehearsal Thursday and Monday after school  from 2:45-3:15 to help prepare for the audition. Email her if you would like to participate.

• Tonight’s the night to see the lights! Celebration of Lights at Rotary Park in LaSalle is open from 5-8 tonight with St. Bede collecting donations at the gate. Bring a friend, drive through the lights, and have the hap-hap-happiest Christmas!

• Today we have a group of 7th graders from local Catholic schools making a NET retreat in the abbey church. Please welcome them and keep them in your prayers. 

• Tomorrow the Sophomores will have their NET day in the abbey church. They have a relaxed dress code: slacks or jeans without rips and a St. Bede top. No leggings, sweatpants or pajama pants allowed. The sophomores will attend their period A class and at the end of the period report to the abbey church. Thursday is freshman NET day.

• Keep bringing in toys and food for our charity collections. Toys are due at the end of the week.

• Audition information for Wizard of Oz has been posted in the spring musical google classroom.  Paper copies may be picked up from Mrs. Griggs or Mrs. Smith.  If interested in auditioning or helping with crew, please join the google classroom and complete google form.  There is one for crew members and one for interested cast members.

• We delivered a large collection of toys to the food pantry in Spring Valley, but it's not too late to make a contribution. We'll be accepting toy donations until Friday, December 6.  The food collection will continue until Christmas break, so please continue to bring in your donations.

• Would you like to deepen your relationship with God, learn about your faith, and make new friends? TEC, or Teens Encounter Christ, is for you! There is a boys TEC this weekend. See Fr. Dom or Mr. Davy for information.

• Blue and Red Christmas in Peru is looking for gift wrappers on Monday, December 9 and Monday, December 16. If you like wrapping Christmas presents and want to support the Peru community, stop by the Peru police department on either day starting at 4:00, or stop by anytime after 4:00. Service hours will be given!
