  • Reminder to juniors & seniors: College Visit days will not be excused on the following days - Juniors - Day of Recollection, March 9th and SAT, April 16th, Seniors – Retreat, March 25 & 26th. Seniors if you schedule your college placement testing or registration appointment on these days they will need to be rescheduled.

  • It was a good night at Sterling for the St. Bede track teams. Lily Bosnich won the Long Jump and was second in the 60meters, 60 meter hurdles, and 200 meters. Maggie Arkins won the 800 meter run, Emerald De La Torre was 3rd in the 60 meters and part of the 4x200 meter relay along with Siearah Shaver, Grace Millington, Ashlyn Ehm that finished 5th. For the guys Marco Rizzi was second in the Long Jump, Greyson Marincic was third in the Long jump and was part of the 5th place 4x200 meter relay along with Sean Brayton, Willy Sramek, and Jack Maschmann.

  • If you’re interested in joining Esports and playing Apex Legends, Call of Duty, and/or Rocket League, we need to put together a roster by March 11 (Monday).  Let Mr. Fess know asap.

Application and materials due March 22nd to Ms. Bernabei.   This scholarship offers a $5,000 award and a paid summer internship with the possibility of full time employment after college graduation. Up to 4 students will be selected.  This award is renewable for up to five years.  See your email or the scholarship list. The Michael J. Lyons Scholarship is due April 1st to Ms. Bernabei. Both of these scholarships are only available to SBA students. There are a lot of scholarship deadlines approaching fast!  Check the scholarship list.

The Bruins came out on top with 7 wins and 0 losses to capture the conference title! Your Bruins were led by Bella Hagenbuch who finished 9th and Grayson Marincic finishing in the #1 spot answering more toss-ups than anyone in the tournament both receiving All-Conference honors. Congratulations Bruins!

This is a $5,000 award and a paid summer internship with the possibility of full time employment after college graduation for Engineering or Accounting/Finance majors. Up to 4 scholarship/internship opportunities will be offered (depending on the number & quality of applicants). The award is renewable for up to five years based on satisfactory performance.   • Did you know? Depending on the country Lunar New Year lasts around 2 weeks with different activities and traditions happening throughout. This year the holiday starts this Saturday, Feb 10th, and will end on Feb 24th. Generally, it is a time for family gatherings, good food, and wishes for a prosperous new year. Families visit their relatives and friends to wish them a happy new year and exchange gifts of money given in red envelopes. Red is an important color because it signifies fortune, luck, and vitality.

  • Heritage Club members coming to make paper lanterns for Lunar New Year need to arrive to room 204 by 2:50pm on Friday.

  • We have an exciting weekend of athletic events, beginning this afternoon. At 4:30pm, our Wrestlers Hunter Savage, Grady Gillan, and Garrett Connelly will be competing in the IHSA Sectional meet at Dekalb High School. Logan Pineda also advanced but is injured and cannot wrestle. Beginning at 5:30pm, our Boys Sophomore/Varsity Basketball host Henry-Senachwine. Saturday, 2/10/24, beginning at 8am, Boys Freshmen Basketball engages in a B team tournament, hosted at JFK School in Spring Valley. At 9am, our girls' bowlers Aubrey Acuncius and Maddy Fabish compete at the IHSA Girls Bowling Sectional, hosted at Mardi Gras Lanes in Dekalb. At 10am, the Wrestling Sectional continues, also in Dekalb, and at 11am, Boys Basketball plays in a Varsity/Sophomore/Freshman Tri-Header here in Abbot Vincent Gymnasium, 11am Boys Varsity vs DePue, 1pm, Boys Sophomore vs Dwight, and at 2:30pm, Boys Varsity vs Dwight! Then on Monday, wear your SBA Green and let's GREEN WAVE our section for our Girls Varsity Basketball team as they compete in the first round of the IHSA Regional Basketball Tournament at Marquette Academy. Game time is 6pm.
