SAT Word of the Day:

  • vapid (adj.) lacking liveliness, dull 

    • The professor’s comments about the poem were surprisingly VAPID and dull.

  • Our Bible Study group meets after school tomorrow in the abbey church lounge. Join us as we explore the Sunday readings together.

  • Our annual Christmas toy collection is underway! This year we are partnering with the Knight of Columbus, providing toys to a variety of agencies throughout the Illinois Valley. Bring in your new, unwrapped toys and place them on the table at the top of the stairs near the elevator. Help us spread the joy to as many children as possible this Christmas. Deadline for contributions is December 6th, so get shopping!

  • Congratulations to the Senior class!  Approximately 35 seniors (over ½ of the class) completed and submitted college applications by the early application deadline of Nov 1st. This is more than any other class in the past 14 years!  Your hard work will pay off! We are sure to see big things happening for these amazing students!!

  • Would you like to understand the foundational principles behind AI and learn how to correctly and effectively apply AI?  Join the AI Club!  See Mr. Fess or join google classroom, code gynakcnm

  • PSAT Scores are now posted in your College Board account. See Ms. Bernabei if you have trouble logging and finding your score.

  • Reminder to seniors going on the Illinois Holocaust Museum field trip on Monday, Nov. 10: be here by 7:15 because we leave no later than 7:30am. You KNOW Mrs. Rynkewicz will wave at you from the bus as it drives away. 

  • Congratulations to sophomores  Landon Balestri, Johnathan Michael, Hanna Waszkowiak, and Mary Simonetta for being selected by St. Bede faculty and staff to represent our school as HOBY Ambassadors.  HOBY Ambassadors are students who put forth outstanding leadership skills, confidence, community service, concern for others as well as other admirable traits.
