  • All of our themed dress days have come to an end. REMIDER: Sandals must have a strap around the heel. Slide on sandals or flip flops are not allowed and students will start receiving detentions when found in violation. Please review the dress code on pages 24 and 25 of the Parent Student Planner. 

  • Please dismiss Cross Country runners at 2:20 for meet tonight 

  • Sign up to join our international students on a trip to Six Flags Fright Fest on Saturday, October 19. Cost is $57. If you've already signed up, your money is due to Mrs. Wagner by Thursday October 3.or you will not receive a ticket. 

  • Picture retakes are this Thursday. Seniors you may wear your dress clothes all day if you prefer or change into your uniform when you are finished. Underclassmen you will have your photos taken the first 2 periods of the day. You will be dismissed by class. 

  • CONGRATULATIONS to Nathan Potthoff who over the weekend captures 3rd place at the Princeton Invitational tournament and also to Jake Delaney and Brandon Pillion who finished 12th and 11th at the TRAC frosh-soph tournament yesterday.

  • Duck Adoption for Illinois Valley YMCA Duck Derby - Collect donations for Duck adoptions. Forms are available now to pick up at St Bede in Mrs. Gengler’s office and the main office. For every 12 ducks students get adopted they will receive one hour of community service. Duck adoption forms and donation money need to be turned in at the YMCA front desk in care of Peggy Cain or to Mrs. Gengler at St Bede by Oct 31st.

  • Today is the last day to purchase tickets for the Homecoming dance. They will be on sale during lunch. The cost is $10 for one ticket and $20 for two tickets. No names will be taken unless payment is provided. The dance will be held in the gym from 7-9:30 pm on Sunday, September 22. 

  • Bede students in the grass area east of the gym. 

  • If you’re interested in purchasing a mum for your date, mom, aunt, grandma or anyone that would appreciate having one, please see Mrs. Manning. The cost is $5.00.

  • REMINDER: The student commons and collaboration room will be closed ALL DAY today and tomorrow. If you need to remain at school after dismissal you must report to the refectory or loft. 

  • STUDENTS: When going to the lunch room all of your belongings need to be brought to your locker. There should be NOTHING outside the refectory. E2C students you may leave your belongings in your room and pick them up after lunch.

And don’t forget to attend the variety show on Friday night at 7:30 pm. There will be a lot of talent on display in the gym. Afterward, there will be a bonfire for St. Bede students in the grass area west of the gym.

  • Locker checks have begun. You were all assigned a locker, you are required to be in that assigned locker with your assigned lock and it needs to be LOCKED AT ALL TIMES. If you are found occupying a locker that is not yours you will be fined. If your locker does not have a locked lock on it, you will be fined. If you need to purchase a lock they are available in the office for $10 

  • The Student Commons and collaboration room will be closed tomorrow and Friday after the 7:30 a.m. bell. If you need to remain at school after hours you must report to the refectory or the loft. You should have been informed by your instructors where your study hall will meet these 2 days.

  • This Sunday, Sept. 15th, at 2:00pm in the PSC Heritage Club will be making lanterns for the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival. Heritage Club members should come have fun and eat snacks while learning about this important time in the Chinese culture.

  • Our Donor of the Day is Cynthia Perkins. Ms. Perkins is a 1985 graduate and is a Director at KPMG. We are blessed with her kindness and support. Please keep her in a special prayer of thanks today

  • Tonight is Green and White Night! Come out and meet your Fall BRUIN Teams. Volleyball scrimmage starts at 5:00. All fall athletes will be announced starting at 6:00 on the football field. Football scrimmage to start at 6:15. Concessions will be open at the football field. 

  • Students if you arrive to school before the 7:30 bell you MUST remain in the student commons. ONLY exception is if you have a scheduled meeting with an instructor. 

  • Back to school dance is tonight at the shelter starting immediately after Green and White Night concludes (approximately 7:30) and will end at 10:00 pm. Come out and mingle with your classmates. 

  • Fall sport pictures today at 3:00 in the quad. 

  • Attention Freshman! Are you interested in running for a student government position? Petition forms will be available beginning Monday, August 26 in Mrs. Manning’s room. We hope you’ll join us! 

  • Today is the deadline for Parking Passes. If you drive to school you must have a parking pass displayed in your window. 

  • Austria, Germany and Switzerland tour is re-opened for anyone wanting to register for the Spring Break trip in April, 2020. Anyone interested in going meet Mrs. Haskell Free in 213 on Tuesday, Aug. 27, during homeroom. Those already registered, we will meet Sept 3 during homeroom. 

  • Last Supper Club sign-up sheet is on Fr. Ronald's office door. Going to Four Star on Thursday. 

  • There are a few food items in the blue cart on the first floor. We need lots more. When full we'll bring to the food pantry.

  • Our Donor of the Day is Fr. Scott Potthoff. Fr. Potthoff is a 2005 graduate and is the Pastor at the Nativity of our Lord Church in Spring Valley. We are blessed with his kindness and support. Please keep him in a special prayer of thanks today.

  • Fall Sports photos are Friday August 23rd after school in the Quad. 

  • All students driving to school are required to have a parking tag for the 2019-2020 school year. The cost is $20. Students must have their tag by Friday, August 23, 2019. The Parking Permit forms can be picked up in the Business Office before or after school. All forms must be signed by the student and a parent. 

  • The Interact Club will be selling St. Bede Lanyards again this year. They will be set up outside the refectory during lunch periods today and tomorrow. The cost of a Lanyard is $3. 

  • Heritage Club would like to welcome our newest Bruins to St. Bede! Please join our group if you want to participate in new cultural experiences and meet new people. Information about Heritage Club can be found in our Google Classroom. The code to join is lmaz47. Membership dues are $15 and this money must be turned in to Mrs. Gonzalez or Mrs. Rynkewicz no later than Friday, August 23rd. 

  • Last Supper Club sign-up sheet is on Fr. Ronald's office door. Here are some restaurants we haven't been to, yet: La Michoacana, Al's Bella Vista, Country House, The 101, The Maples, Tony's Butt Shack, Four Star, MJ's Pub and Grill, Gold Mine, Lodi Tap House. If you are interested in any of these and want to help plan our first outing of the year, let Fr. Ronald know. Our first outing will be Thursday, August 29th. 

  • Outdoor prayer service tomorrow. Today your religion teacher will explain what will happen tomorrow and tomorrow specific directions will be given by your C period teacher. 

  • Tomorrow is dress up day. Ladies must have shoulders covered and modest skirts, no more than 2 inches above the knee. Gentlemen dress pants and a shirt and tie. If you choose not to dress up your daily DENNIS uniform must be worn. 

  • The teams for the dodgeball tournament are posted outside the refectory. Check them out! Competition begins Wednesday night at 7 pm in the gym.

  • Any student interested in helping the football program on game nites please meet with Coach Eustice in the Commons Area during homeroom. Help is needed with Film/Technology and Stats
